A woman had 11 silver coins. She lost one. She lit a lamp and searched all over for the lost coin. When it was found, she rejoiced and celebrated with friends and family.
A shepherd was tending a flock of sheep. He counted the sheep and found that one was missing. He set off into the wilderness to rescue the one. He found it in a bramble bush and carried it back happily to join the others.
A prodigal son left his father and family. He ventured out far into the world where he encountered many difficulties alone. When he returned beaten and broken, he was recognized and celebrated from way off.
