Referee

Watching American politics today is like rubber necking at a highway crash.  It’s awful but macabre.  It is fascinating and you can’t look away.

Basically its a bad football game where one side bought off the referees or the referees have been making questionable calls all night.  Really iffy stuff that has some in the crowd yelling, “Bad call, ref!  Why don’t you get some glasses!”

Seriously, the refs checked out from quarter one to quarter three.  One side got dragged all over the field, threatened with penalties again and again and again, lost major ground constantly, and basically got beat up.  The people prepared to leave early from the stands.  Game over.  What a wash out!

But strangely the down team rallied in the fourth quarter.  Oddly somehow….no one can really explain how.  Its a mystery even to them at this point as they started to honey badger the playing field.  The other band was playing Ted Nugent Stranglehold even.  Everyone just expected their demise and were placing bets on when it would be.

Yep.  They placed bets on their defeat.  How messed up is that?

But they suddenly rallied.

And then it was like the bad call referees that appeared to be bought off possibly were suddenly woke.

They were blowing whistles, calling for civility and respect after the hour long disrepectful slaughterhouse that occurred prior.

It had the folks baffled in the crowd and scratching their heads…wondering one by one in the crowd silently if yes, maybe it is true that the game really is rigged and the refs got bought off after all.

Woah.

Then the crowd started to stir with unrest……..

Something’s not right here.

Something is very wrong.

Murmurs in the crowd…..

Kinda reminiscent to that Gladiator movie moment with the crowd stirring after the battle and questioning what is really going on here.  The Emperor gives the thumbs up or down and is watching the stirring and strange energy of the coliseum crowd.

Seriously, I feel like I’m watching a Coliseum battle.  Commodus must decide the thumbs up or down and the crowd is reacting and moving with unrest.  What will the Emperor decide?  It’s clear to the whole crowd now whom he prefers but will he be fair?

Where’s my popcorn?
